Biography

Kathleen “Kristy” Brooks

Kathleen “Kristy” Brooks is an entertainer extraordinaire – singer,
actress, dancer, educator and administrator.  She has a Doctorate is
in Music and Theatre and three Masters Degrees.  She had successfully
written, directed, and produced three musicals during her educational
tenure. Also, she is an adjunct instructor at the College of Southern
Nevada (CSN).  She has performed both solo and with the group
worldwide, from the United States to Hong Kong, Singapore,
Haiti, Bahamas, Hawaii and more. She travels Internationally as a
performer and motivational speaker inspiring positive mental attitudes,
leadership skills, better relationships through communications and a
strong passion for the arts. She demonstrates how the arts can help you
in your life and business. In her educational and corporate speaking
events, she uses her extensive background in drama, music, and
humor to inspire, entertain, and educate.

Dr. Brooks, affectionately called “Kristy Love” Brooks,  performed
as a member of “The Platters” when she first joined the original
company under manager Buck Ram who would replace the members
as they left.  At that time, this group held the official Platters title
(handled by Ram, who helped copyright title to the name).  Since
1998- 2006, she has been performing as a member of “The Platters”
at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas.  The group has an open-ended
contract which could last up to 5 years and beyond. 

Kristy has an extensive history in entertainment.  She is a former
RCA recording artist and starred in the “Jimi Hendrix Story” on
Broadway. She produced and starred in her own TV show
“Kristy’s Positive Images” on Cable in New York and Las Vegas.
Her film credits include:  Lean On Me, Cotton Club, Malcolm X,
Crooklyn, Fly By Night, Coming To America, Nightfall in
Manhattan, Ransom. 

Kristy Love also does solo performances with her band for special
occasions, conventions, corporate dates and major venues.  She creates
a variety of moods and tempos with music from the 50’s
(her Platters experience); to standards and jazz; and to the contemporary
R&B styles of her CD "Krisy's Classics Vol. 1" which spans the adult
contemporary  genre.  Her CD “Giving You Love” received rave
reviews in Britain. “Kristy Love”, as she is referred to nightly
performing in Las Vegas, has established herself as one of the true
Divas. She performs her solo act with tributes to the “Divas”, Roberta
Flack, the Motown Divas, Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight,
Whitney Houston, Yolanda Adams and others. Her unique sound
will create a new excitement in the record industry.

Dr. Love heals the body, mind and soul with her music.
